The Arc, Headingley
Having moved to Headingley 4 months ago I find myself going to the Arc for meals very frequently! The whole experience is superb. The atmosphere is the main thing that makes me go back time and time again. It has a real student/young professionals feel to it which really appeals to me. The food is also excellent. It serves a selection of dishes including a 'Healthy Options' specials board which shows which meals are low fat, low GI, low carb etc. The burgers are a must especially 'The Gov'ner'! Drinks are also good, serving a wide selection of wines and bottled beers. I would also recommend venturing upstairs after your meal for a cocktail. Made infront of you using all the real ingredients. Definately a brilliant way of finishing off your evening!

Chaophraya
Fantastic! A traditional Thai restaurant with all the trimmings! The staff are lovely, some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Prices are good for the quality of food you recieve. I really cant recommend this place enough. I have visited the Manchester branch too and it is just as good. A real gem, you must go!!!

Livebait
Livebait serves brilliant yet simple fish and seafood dishes. It is part of a small chain which is comfortable and relaxed. The food is fresh and creative with a real modern twist. The atmosphere is bright and lively with bright walls and cosy intimate seating areas. The Louisiana crab cakes are an absolute must to start. They are the most delicious crab cakes i have ever tasted. The spicy red Thai fish curry is also amazing. Good selection of wines and champagne. Prices are reasonable also.

Trio Bar & Restaurant
Trio's restaurant and bar is in the centre of Headingley and is part of the same chain as The Arc and The Box. All of these places have a similar feel to them although Trio's is alot classier and expensive. The downstairs bar is really swanky! It has lovely mood lighting and large seating areas with bar stools and high tables which give the bar a really luxurious feel. The restaurant itself is lovely! You can see into the kitchen which I always enjoy. The menu is varied with a selection of classic dishes with a contemporary Trio's twist. Prices are high for the location but you do really feel like you are treating yourself when you eat there. Its a definate firm favourite of mine and i really cant recommend it enough.

Casa Mia
Casa Mia is a brilliant restaurant situated in the middle of the town centre. It is a traditional Italian so you can expect all the usual dishes. I love the decor of the Casa Mia. It is clean and fresh and is very inviting. The staff are very helpful and attentive. I would recommend looking at the specials boards as they have some unusual meat and fish dishes which are definately worth a try. I especially enjoyed the minestrone soup with goats cheese crustini and the hake from the board. A brilliant find that deserves a visit or two!

Arts Cafe Bar
Arts Cafe is situated on Call Lane in Leeds City Centre. It is a brilliant little bar and restaurant that i stumbled across when i was studying in Leeds. I was an art student so obviously the gallery in the restaurant is a real highlight. It concentrates on exhibiting local and regional contemporary art work. The food is simple yet delicious. There is a great mix of meat and vegetarian dishes including steaks and tofu dishes. I really enjoyed the Chick pea & lentil biryani served with a homemade garlic naan although i am a meat eater! Please please try the Baileys & white chocolate mousse if they still serve it as it is amazing. I love this place and i think it really shows what Leeds is about! It is young and contemporary and the food is good to boot!

The Box, bar and restaurant
You have to go The Box, even if its just for the pizzas alone!! They are amazing, all named after football players. From memory I think Beckham and Pele were my faves! They are renowned in Leeds as being the best pizzas. Loaded with toppings and really geneorous sizes. However, apart from the pizzas the other food isnt amazing. Its good but nothing to rave home about. The atmposphere is amazing with live sport, music and tv shown all day. In the evening it turns into a bar with a pool tables and music. Drinks are good prices with lots of food and drinks offers all day.
