Yakisoba, Chorlton
Yakisoba is a bento restaurant proposing japanese, chinese and thai dishes at an affordable price. The menu is quite vast and you are sure to find something you like! The place is very well decorated, and the service is very good. They also do take-away, if you do not want to eat there. Although it is possible to go and eat without booking a table, I recommend doing so as it can get quite busy! Overall a nice restaurants to bring visiting friends!

Barinda, Cheadle Hulme
A brilliant Indian restaurant in Cheadle Hulme which offers great value, high quality food. The restaurant also has a take away so you can enjoy the great food at home as well. Please note though, that the Barinda doesn't offer a delivery service so you need to be able to pick up the food yourself. The restaurant is small and intimate, you can take your own alcohol also so it makes the night a lot cheaper. A brilliant restaurant with an equally brilliant take away.

Frankie and Benny's, Didsbury
Lively place with really friendly staff & good food. I would recommend the sticky prawn pasta! Lots of variety on the menu. There is an excellent offer where you can get either a starter and a main course or a main course and a dessert for £9.99. The only downside was that I had to wait a while to be served and the food took a long time to come. I think that this was due to them being short staffed at the time. Overall its good quailty food & a nice, pleasant environment.

Globe, Manchester
Globe is a top-end take away, which proposes a vast menu of chinese, japanese, italian (pizzas) and tex-mex dishes. I definitely recommend the burritos and pizzas, but was less convinced by the chinese and japanese food, which I found overpriced and not particulary impressive.

Metropolitan, Didsbury
The Metropolitan is a posh pub situated in west didsbury. The decoration is pretty nice, as the inside looks a bit like an old library. The menu is definitely on the high-end of the market, with top-notch british food. It is quite nice to spend a lazy sunday on the terrace or on the lawn, weather permitting! Overall a nice restaurant if you have the budget!

Naawab, Levenshulme
This Indian restaurant is huge! It is £10 for all you can eat which is brilliant as there is a large selection of startes, curries, breads and desserts. If you would like a quiet, intimate meal then I would not recommend going here. However, if like me you like a bustling environment then it is great. It is especially good to go with a large party. Drink prices are reasonable and there are lots of waitors so you dont need to queue or wait for ages to be served. Definately worth a visit!!

Pearl City, Manchester
Pearl City is a reasonably priced chinese restaurant. You can pop in anytime in the evening and are pretty sure to find a table, even at 1 or 2 pm. The food is OK and not too expensive (try out the chicken feet!), the decor is relatively nice and the service is quite fast.
Budget: £5 to £10 per person

Simply Thai, Hazel Grove
A brilliant restaurant which serves authentic Thai food. Prices are good, especially the banquet menues. I would definately recommend the seabass with chilli and lemon. Although a little bit more expensive, it is definately worth it! A lovely warm enviroment with inviting and friendly staff.
Budget: £20 to £30 per person

Tai Wu, Manchester
Tai Wu is a very big chinese restaurant situated next to Manchester Central Library. Half-price dim sums are served in the afternoon, and a very vast selection of chinese dishes are available on the menu, at a reasonable price. You can pop in any time during the afternoon, up to quite late in the evening. The food is of a relatively good quality, especially if you know what to order, like the lobster or the steamed fish! Also on the plus side, the relatively decent prices make this restaurant quite a good destination if you're in town and feel hungry!

The Ashlea, Cheadle
The Ashlea is a traditional food serving pub in Cheadle. It has a large menu with a variety of specials. Personally I would recommend eating food from the specials board as they often include fresh fish, meat dishes including venison, duck and beef and a variety of international meals such as Thai and Indian. However, if you want good pub food The Ashlea also supplies this! The beef and ale pie with mash and the mixed grill are always good. The service is good but basic. Prices are reasonable and the ambience is always good.

The Living Room, Manchester
The Living Room is a great place to grab a bite to eat before heading to a few bars. The menu is varied, serving everything from burgers, duck and Thai curries. There is definately something for everyone. The atmosphere is relaxed and classy with large fashionable furniture and mood lighting. Prices are a tad high but I guess that is what you expect when you eat on Deansgate!

Don Giovanni
I went to Don Giovanni to celebrate a friend's birthday, as I've heard a lot of good about this restaurant: However, I was very disappointed with the food (my dish actually arrived cold), which appeared a bit tasteless. Service wasn't very good, and food took ages to arrive! I don't recommend it.

New Samsi, Manchester
The service was very good and the ambience not bad, although the lights were a bit bright and the chairs very hard! These elements by no means compensated for the food which was disappointing. We ordered the 'Taste of Japan' banquet for £20.95 a head. The starter consisted of few pieces of sushi which had a definite 'tourist sushi' feeling about it: (no raw fish in sight, could possibly have been plucked from the shelves of Sainsburys) and tempura chicken and vegetables. These were pleasant enough but pretty bland and mainly served to fill you up. The main course included chicken and leek skewers with a sticky sauce (by far the tastiest dish of the evening) and rib-eye steak in some sort of butter sauce which was nicely cooked but again somewhat bland. These were served with rice and salad. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant based on the food.

Piccolino, Bramhall
I have eaten in the Leeds branch of Piccolino's on several occasions and i have not a bad word to say about it. However, I went to the Bramhall branch last weekend with my fiancee and I was very very disapointed. When we arrived we had to wait a while to be seated, the restaurant was busy though so we understood. However when we were finally shown to our seats, we were put inbetween two other couples and to be honest we might as well have been all eating at the same table. It was awful, no privacy at all and you could hear what everyone was talking about. The food itself wasnt bad but it didnt live up to the Leeds branch. I had the salmon with chilli and it was satisfactory. Desserts were good though. The other downside to this restaurant was the cleanliness of the toilets. I was appauled. I complained but nothing was done about it and they were in the same state when i went back at the end of our meal. All in all i wouldnt go back to this branch which is a shame as with a few adjustments it would be a lovely restaurant.

Bella Italia, Manchester City Centre
I went to Bella Italia in Manchester City Centre and I was quite appalled by the quality of the food, the service. The place didn't actually look pretty clean, and the wine wasn't good at all.

Bella Italia, Manchester, Arndale
The worst meal that I have had in a long time. The service was ok but it was a real shame about the food. I had to wait a long time for my food to arrive, over 40 minutes! I ordered spaghetti carbonara and was very disappointed. The sauce was lumpy, tasteless and very watery. I do not recommend this resaturant to anyone and will not be visting there again!!!

Ma Potters, Trafford Centre
I have been to Ma Potters in the Orient a couple of times since the TC opened. I usually receive good quality food and good service. However I visited with my husband my two children last Saturday and it was absolutely appaling. The service was the worst part about the whole experience. We had to ask to order some drinks, then ask 15 minutes later where the drinks were. We then had to ask to order some food and then also ask on numerous occasions where our food was. We were served by a very rude waitor who seemed to find the whole ordeal ammusing. When the food finally arrived mine and my husbands food was near cold. We sent it back and received a replacement, but i am sure our original meals were just put in the microwave for a minute or two. We compained and got 20% discount which was fair but I will not be returning to this restaurant which is a shame as we have all enjoyed it in the past.
