PACT Analysis
People: The user groups that could use this prototype could be everyone. As the prototype could come in two versions (one for children i.e. Mr. Potato outfit and another one for adults, teens in general dress / outfit selector) this is why the range of the people that could play with it is quite wide. So, again the knowledge background of the possible users of this prototype varies a lot but this does not matter a lot because this game does not necessitates knowledge of words, moves etc.
Activities: The general scope of the prototype is to change and create different outfits either for Mr. Potato (children game) or just create normal outfits. The Pins would represent different outfits and different colours . These are going to be placed on the Fabric and relocated each time that someone wants to change the outfit. It may not require strict cooperation with others and the data that would be input to the system would be the one that each Pin represents. It is going to have iterative activities.
Contexts: The activityof using Pin and Play concept and tangible interfaces for selecting outfit and have fun could happen anywhere. The prototype should be quite safe and resistant to several unwanted circumstances such as accidents occurrence (water/dust resistant) especially because it may be used by children too. The Pins should be “programmed” in a quite flexible way so as to be somehow able to be recovered missed pieces/pins. Fabric is itself quite strong and not that vulnerable to misuse. Pins should not harm children.
Technologies: The data that has to be input is going to be actually the Pins that are going to be placed on the Fabric and their movements. It does not going to involve typing something. It just operates with the placement and replacement or movement of Pins on the Fabric. However, the way that pins have to be placed needs to be quite clear. The output also is going to be interpreted visually (computer screen, projector or something else like holograms).
