Concept: Simulation of Real World Systems
Prototypes
Presentation
Concerned with applications that have a direct connection with systems, actions or games that are performed in real life.
The main idea of the conceptual design would be to use the components of the Pin and Play project to recreate either tasks which are done with existing physical objects, or aid a decision making process or part of a system or schema.
The users/players can use Pin and play as either an aid to a decision making process, or be a tangible interface and actual decision in manipulation. For example, choosing or selecting something would suggest Pin and Play could help in the decision making process. Alternatively, if the decision is already made, Pin and Play could be used to manifest that decision, such as a move in a game. . Some types of input would include manipulation of pins and the use of stylus pens to give more detailed referencing information.
Some suggested requirements of prototypes would be the following:
- Allow more than one people to interact in the way that they are used to (without introducing something new and strange – have familiarity)
- Employ the tangibility nature
- opportunity of distant tangible way of interacting (such as games across the internet)
- opportunity of having both fun and have a simulation on real world activities (such as dress selector).
